Food Industry Supply Clusters

Relevance of the food industry for the Baltic Sea Region and EU
The food and drink industry is one of Europe’s most important and dynamic industrial sectors. It is made up of about 310.000 companies and provides jobs for more than 4 million people. In Europe today, six out of the seven most important risk factors for premature death relate to how we eat, drink and move. We wish to help SME’s to have a provident focus on emerging opportunities in the food industries to ensure a healthy, safe and high quality food supply.
It is important, to keep focus on new markets in the food industry to ensure the competitiveness in the Baltic Sea Region.
