The Baltic Institute of Finland was founded in 1994 and it is a non-profit organisation acting in the form of a foundation owned by the City of Tampere. Our core activity is to promote cooperation and concrete project measures in the Baltic Sea Region and elsewhere in Europe.

Our mission is to create and enhance international cooperation networks between citizens, researchers, experts, authorities and businesses in their efforts to identify new partnerships and activities with added value.

We ensure brainstorming and managing international projects with confidentiality, transparency and a strong specialist competence. We provide strong experience and in-depth knowledge of the Baltic Sea Region cooperation and contact networks in various fields.
